Installation and Setup

Although most setup tasks must be done from within the TeamAgenda program, using the Team Administration dialog box, some options must be configured or enabled using TA-Server. These include:

Additional License Numbers

Additional license numbers may be added to TA-Server to permit more users to become team members, or to unlock TeamAgenda options such as TeamAgenda Web and FileMaker Integration.

To enter additional license numbers in TA-Server:

1. In Windows 95/98, choose the License... command in the Configuration menu;

or

In Windows NT4/2000, open the TA-Server control panel, then click the Licensing tab;

or

On Macintosh, choose the License... command in the TA-Server menu.

2. Enter the new license number in the text box.

3. Click the Add button.

Repeat steps 2 and 3, if necessary.

4. Click OK.

Configuring Network Protocols on Macintosh

TA-Server will use all network protocols available on the computer where it is installed, unless you choose to deactivate certain protocols. Available protocols include TCP/IP on Windows and Macintosh, and AppleTalk on Macintosh.

To activate or deactivate network protocols on Macintosh:

1. On Macintosh, choose the Configuration... command in the TA-Server menu.

2. Select the network protocols you wish to use.

3. Click OK.

Note: TA-Server on Windows requires and supports only TCP/IP, so it cannot be deactivated.

TA-Server E-mail Integration

TA-Server can integrate with your Internet e-mail system. Contacts who are not members of a TeamAgenda team may be invited to meetings via e-mail, directly from TeamAgenda, and their responses will appear right in the appropriate TeamAgenda schedule.

Setting up TeamAgenda e-mail integration requires two basic steps. First, TA-Server must be given an account and password on your mail system; ask your mail or network administrator to do this. Next, e-mail integration must be turned on and configured from TA-Server. Once TA-Server's Internet Mail Gateway has been activated, any external contacts invited to TeamAgenda meetings who have an e-mail address will receive automatic notification by e-mail.

To turn on and configure e-mail integration from TA-Server:

1. In Windows 95/98, choose the E-Mail Gateway... command in the Configuration menu;

or

In Windows NT4/2000, open the TA-Server control panel, then click the E-Mail Gateway tab;

or

On Macintosh, choose Internet from the Configure Email Gateway submenu in the Configuration menu.

2. In the dialog box, check the Enable Internet Mail Gateway check box.

3. Enter the correct values for SMTP Host, POP3 Host, Account and Password.

You must enter the account and password provided for TA-Server by your mail system, along with the SMTP and POP3 host names. If you do not know the correct values for these items, consult your network administrator.

4. If desired, check the APOP Authentification check box.

APOP authentification is a method used to protect e-mail passwords when they are transmitted. Ask your mail or network administrator if this should be activated.

Enable FirstClass Integration

If your organization uses Centrinity's FirstClass communications system, you can integrate TeamAgenda's sophisticated calendar and time management capabilities into your FirstClass system and easily invite FirstClass users to TeamAgenda meetings.

FirstClass integration must be enabled in TA-Server, using the E-Mail Gateway command. For full instructions see Integrating with FirstClass.

Enable FileMaker Integration

Teamsoft's optional FileMaker Integration makes TeamAgenda's sophisticated calendaring and group-scheduling capabilities accessible to FileMaker users, while TeamAgenda users can access FileMaker Pro databases from within TeamAgenda.

FileMaker integration must be enabled in TA-Server, using the FileMaker command. For full instructions see Integrating with FileMaker Pro.
