Installation and Setup:

Creating a new team

TA-Server stores and manages a copy of all shared agendas in a team database. This database must be created and running before individual users can join the team.

In Windows NT the team database is created automatically when TA-Server is installed, and TA-Server will run automatically whenever the computer is started.

By default TA-Server will try to enable the TCP/IP network protocol. If TCP/IP is not installed, TA-Server will be inoperative. Any network protocol problems will appear when Windows NT is restarted and TA-Server is run for the first time.

To convert an existing team database for TeamAgenda 4:

Note: You should use your existing version of TeamRepair to verify your data files before converting; see Using TeamRepair.

TA-Server will convert your existing team database to the new version format automatically. However, you must move your existing team database to the new TA-Server location. Follow these steps:

1. Stop the TA-Server service using the Services control panel (in Windows 2000 this is found in Start Menu\Control Panels\Administrative Tools\Services).

2. Delete the new "taserver.tdb" file from C:\PROGRAM FILES\TEAMSOFT\TA-SERVER SERVICE\

3. Copy your existing team database file to C:\PROGRAM FILES\TEAMSOFT\TA-SERVER SERVICE\

(See TA-Server for Windows Manual Uninstall for the default locations of the team database in earlier versions.)

4. If necessary, rename your existing team database file to "taserver.tdb".

5. Start the TA-Server service using the Services control panel.
