Installation and Setup:

Creating a new team
.

When you run TA-Server for the first time in Windows 95/98, it will automatically create a team database in its subdirectory with the default team name of "TAgenda Server".

You must click OK in the dialog box that appears to create the team database.

Note: If the name "TAgenda Server" does not then appear in the Team Name box (Configuration menu), check the Event Log to see if TA-Server was able to use the TCP/IP network protocol. If TCP/IP is not installed, TA-Server will be inoperative.

To use your existing team database:

Note: You should use your existing version of TeamRepair to verify your data files before converting; see Using TeamRepair.

If you are upgrading from an earlier version of TA-Server, simply open your existing team database file with the new version of TA-Server. Your existing database will be converted automatically.

1. Start TA-Server.

2. Click Cancel if the program says it is about to create a new team database.

3. Choose Team Name from the Configuration menu, then the Browse button (...) to find and select your existing team database.

4. Click Yes when TA-Server asks if it should restart.

Your existing database will be converted automatically.

Starting a team automatically in Windows 95/98

To start your team automatically each time you start Windows 95/98, you must place a shortcut to TA-Server in the Startup folder in the Start Menu:

1. Locate and select the TA-Server program (Tserver.exe).

2. Open the TA-Server folder (C:\Tserver) and the StartUp folder (C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp).

3. Hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys, then click and drag the TA-Server program (Tserver.exe) into the Startup folder.

4. Choose Create Shortcut(s) Here from the menu.

A shortcut will be created that will be opened every time you start Windows. (If you have moved the TA-Server or Startup folders, the paths may be different.)
